ODAA donates to Opportunities of Development thru Art – in Cambodia.

ODA Advisory (ODAA) is pleased to be able to make a financial donation, through One Tomorrow Charitable Fund, to Opportunities of Development thru Art, (ODA) in Cambodia. Cambodia demographically is a young Country, with 60% of the population under the age of 25 years.

The provision of schooling, especially in outlying villages of Siem Reap is a high priority, and Opportunities of Development thru Art (ODA) is doing great work in this area.

ODA currently operates 8 free schools for 1450 children, helping to create opportunities to learn new language and technology skills, to provide greater employment opportunities for these children.

ODA doesn’t receive Government support and relies on Donations to advance their work. ODA Advisory’s donation is being matched dollar for dollar by One Tomorrow Charitable Fund. Mr Leng Touch, Founder Director of Opportunities of Development thru Art, said “Village families are becoming aware that life is changing and education is now very important.

They are very grateful for the support that flows on to their children through donations from the likes of ODA Advisory.”

Ron Thomsen, Managing Director of ODAA, said that he and the Board recognise the need and are happy to provide assistance to ODA.

This donation is consistent with a focus of supporting charities who address the needs of children, especially where the number of children to benefit is large and growing. Ron and fellow ODAA Director, Gail Ransley, have had opportunity to visit the ODA Centre at Siem Reap, to see the work being advanced first hand.

Further information on ODA’s work in Cambodia can be obtained through www.onetomorrow.com.au

ODA ADVISORY’S ASSISTANCES FOR CHARITIES IN NEED

ODA Advisory P/L (ODAA) has been active in addressing client mandates and the Board has now determined the beneficiaries of the fees earned from advisory endeavours by our Pro bono team for the calendar year to 31/12/23.

We are very pleased to continue our philanthropic endeavours for the benefit of Community focused charities.

ODAA has given full consideration and determined a Policy for the eligibility of charities to benefit from the fees earned through our advisory roles.

Beneficiaries will be reviewed year on year, and may not necessarily be the same charities ongoing. The prime consideration will be relative financial need, for purpose and community benefit. The charities to receive donations this calendar year are required to nominate a specific expenditure need to be acquitted. Those charities identified as needing support now are:

Iris Foundation.

Wyong, NSW. Cool Connections program. Iris Foundation works to reduce the risk of suicide through primary prevention. We facilitate programs and support awareness campaigns and partnerships which enhance community connectedness and well-being. The core pillars of Resilience, Hope & Connections are embedded in all that we do. The donation will support the Cool Connections, 9-14 year old school aged children early intervention mental health programs.

We Care Connect Wyong and Thornton, NSW. (Van purchase for pick- ups).Connecting community donations to local kids in need.

We Care Connect provides local disadvantaged children with practical, everyday essentials like clothing, car seats, prams and cots to fundamentally reverse the impact of childhood poverty. We care about local vulnerable kids – our target group is the 30,000 children living in poverty throughout the Central Coast and Hunter. Each month, We Care Connect’s volunteer team supports over 200 children and re-homes over 10,000 items.

Muscular Dystrophy NSW – Peer Connect MDNSW works to empower, connect and support people with neuromuscular conditions, and be an effective advocate for the neuromuscular community across NSW.

They achieve this by providing specialised information, camps and programs that bring people together to share, learn from and support each other. The donation will support the “Peer Connect” program which provides connection, respite and peer-support to children and adults living with neuromuscular conditions and their families.

Spirit of Giving Fundraising Hub – a NFP outreach project based in Cessnock and Hunter Valley region under the auspices of St Joseph’s Parish Cessnock.

The Hub assists the disadvantaged, homeless and people suffering domestic violence by providing a welcoming, warm, pleasant and supportive environment for those in need. By working together with outreach partners from the local community we provide voucher services, emergency food supplies, clothes washing, ablution and hairdressing facilities. A donation from ODA Advisory will help in acquiring much needed laundry equipment such as washing machines and dryers.

Our Advisors are delighted that their advisory roles will benefit so many recipients in a number of various communities positively through the donation to these four charities. Ron Thomsen, Managing Director of ODAA said “there is no doubt that with our recent expansion of advisors and geographic focus that the extent of beneficiaries will increase on a needs basis in the future.”
